Another first...and hopefully last

Most of you have heard by now that Riley broke her leg this week. The week I started back to work...talk about bad timing! Work is going great by the way!

It all started on Sunday. She had brought one of her books into our living room and put it on the floor. She stepped on the book, which then made her slide and fall. Tony witnessed it and said that it was a pretty bad fall and he knew she was probably hurt. Immediately after, she wouldn't put any weight on her left leg, so off to the emergency room we went. After about 5 1/2 hours, we were told that it wasn't broken but to take her to the orthopedic doctor if she was still limping 5 days later.

Well, this momma couldn't wait 5 days! On Tuesday afternoon, I decided that something just wasn't right and called the orthopedic's office and asked (begged) that they squeeze her in for Wednesday. Which they did...thank goodness. Tony took off work Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday so that I wouldn't have to miss any of my first week of my new job. What a great daddy! He got to see why I like staying home with her so much! He said he had so much fun with her.

Anyway, the orthopedic dr. determined that her tibia had a hairline fracture and put her in a cast. My poor baby! And of course, when daddy's take their daughters to the dr., the cast color ends up being blue! He says the only other choice was red, but I don't believe him...he would've chosen blue no matter what (or yellow).

She has adjusted well, still sleeps well, and even runs with it!
