Riley's Birthday Party

We had Riley's birthday party on Sunday here at our house. We had a FULL HOUSE...standing room only! About 40+ people showed up to celebrate this milestone with us...what a blessing to have so many family and friends who care about our little girl!

Tony stayed downstairs in the Michigan room for most of the time to keep a watch out for some destructive little kids about 3 years and up that go by the names Jenna, Jamison, Jocelyn, Raelyn, and Alyssa (my nieces, nephew, and cousins).

I was so excited to have the Dowdys come with their new addition, Charley! She is absolutely beautiful!! And Sam is such a good big bro! And oh my, Emily looked amazing just 6 days after giving birth...my friend, Beth, asked me, "Did you look that good 6 days after having Riley?" Um, no!! Then she said, "Way to put the pressure on, Emily!"

1 year check up:

Almost 21lbs. (40th percentile...finally, she's dropped down from the 80th percentile on her weight)

30 inches tall (75th percentile...tall girl!)

Dr. Nelson was impressed with her vocabulary development (Riley jabbered and said almost all of her words while we were there...Dr. Nelson kept having to talk over Riley's talking and she kept stopping to laugh at all the words she was saying. It was seriously like Riley was trying to show off since she can't walk yet.) She assured me that it was perfectly normal for her to not be walking yet. Riley had to get three shots and her finger pricked for blood and my girl was a CHAMP! She didn't cry at all...I was so proud of her!
